Although I started playing Solitaire! on the Pocket7Games app, I was also drawn to 21 Gold. My affinity with Blackjack was the reason I started playing 21 Gold, but (spoiler alert) it didn’t actually help me. Still, I’ve won a good amount of games in 21 Gold – and some nice extra cash, too. To help you skip the learning curve and get to your first real cash winnings faster, I have put together the 7 best strategies to win 21 Gold on the Pocket7Games app.
- Don’t play like you’re playing Blackjack
If you’re really familiar with the game of Blackjack, you’re at a disadvantage here. Yes, 21 Gold uses the same way to count points, but a great hand in blackjack can be a terrible hand in 21 Gold. I remember being very proud of myself for having stacks with 19 and 20 points – only to realize I had narrowed my options to two cards: a 2 or an Ace.

- Stack to 11
That said, getting 11 points is just as magical in 21 Gold as it is in Blackjack. By trying to get your stacks to 11 points, getting the most common 10-point card immediately clears the stack. There’s no better feeling than clearing two or more stacks because you’ve lined up a few 11-point stacks.
- Use the ‘hold’ button
When you’re getting a lot of high cards, use the ‘hold’ button to park one of those cards. This gives you some relief and could even get you a better option with the card that’s underneath (which is why there’s a limit to your holds). Don’t forget to use the card as soon as possible, though.
- Spread your options
If you can’t stack to 11 points, make sure you’ve got different options. Having three stacks with 13, 14, and 16 points gives you a lot of options: an 8, 7, or 5 immediately clears your stack, but getting a 2 or a 4 allows you to build the stack with 13 points to a higher number without getting into trouble (18 points or up).

- Keep a seat for the Ace
I like having one stack where I can place the Ace immediately. That way, I don’t waste it on getting a stack from 13 to 14 points. Of course, this tip is close to stacking to 11, but I’ll try to never put anything on an Ace that doesn’t clear the stack straight away.

- Remember the bonuses
When I first started playing 21 Gold for money, I thought the ‘no bust bonus’ was a nice extra, but once I broke the seal, I wouldn’t care if I got one or two strikes. It does matter, however, because you’re not only getting the penalty points for striking out on a stack, you’re also missing out on the points that stack could have given you.
- Place your wild on the biggest stack
Getting a wild card would often throw me for a loop, costing me precious seconds to decide where to put it. Now, I’ve realized that the best stack to clear is the biggest one: it’s been growing for a while, making it harder to connect, and there’s a much better chance you get a 5-card bonus, too.
