Cash Truck Verdict
Cash Truck is a wild ride. The theme comes with the post-apocalyptic punk breed you’d expect from No Limit City, but the bonus is an improvement on the evergreen Money Train 2 bonus. What’s perhaps more impressive is that the base game is still worth playing – although the buy bonus option is right there. Wins are capped at 25,000x – a limit that doesn’t feel out of reach at all.

Theme and Atmosphere
The theme has a Mad Max feel to it. You’re in a truck, driving through a desert. Most of the view is blocked, however, with a truck carrying nothing but cash. Symbols are mostly weapons or members of your gang.
Gameplay and bonuses
The truck bed also provides space for 5*7 grid, with the three top rows “grayed out”. You start with 1.024 ways to win, but every combination clears up a number of blocks in the top three rows, allowing for more ways to win, together with the cascading reels. With all positions clear, you play with 16.807 ways to win.
Bonus symbols aren’t too rare. When two out of three symbols needed appear on the grid, they clear the grid for an extra chance at another symbol (or cascading wins). Impatient players can always opt for the bonus buy option, which takes you straight to the cash.
Free spins
The bonus follows a concept that Money Train 2 made popular, and has been copied plenty of times since. Here, too, the grid starts off at 5*4, and stacks of cash appear on positions. Each stack shows a multiplier, which corresponds to your bet size. You get three spins to gather at least one more symbol before the bonus ends. To get you to bigger wins, there are some enhancers that might appear:
- Booster: adds a factor to current symbols. A 2x booster turns a 3x multiplier into a 5x multiplier. Also comes in the form of a Super Booster, which will keep repeating its feature for every spin.
- Grabber: pulls all values in view and combines them. Also comes as a Super Grabber.
- Expander: expands the grid to give you extra chances at symbols to keep the bonus going and unlock the high-value boosters in the top row.
- Doubler: I feel it’s impossible to overemphasize the importance of the doubler. Mathematically, it feels like Quickspin is taking quite a risk with this symbol (admittedly tackled by the max win cap). When the doubler appears, it will double its own value for every successful respin. The doubler starts at 1x, but activates itself to 2x, and then doubles in value for every other symbol in view. Boosters also apply to the doubler, so when a 5x booster is applied to a 4x doubler, the doubler is 9x (and 18x next time). The earlier a doubler comes into view, the higher its final count will be.
Math
The Doubler in the bonus round makes this game feel like a mathematical exercise. Even without the Doubler, the math in the game is perfectly well-balanced. Small wins, bigger wins, and the chance at major wins are all present, and the 25,000x max win seems attainable (if only half of its inspiration, Money Train 2). The RTP is fine at 96%, but might change. Quickspin have made a habit of delivering their games with different RTPs lately, and the URL on their website displays the RTP.
Editor’s discretion
At the risk of sounding like an overzealous fanboy, the Doubler is a game changer. Without it, the game is good. With it, the game takes these bonuses to a whole new level. This Doubler might be the same as the increasing multiplier we’ve seen in Megaways slots, which are now a standard feature. I figure (and hope) the same might be true for this Doubler.
Alternative slots
I’ve mentioned Money Train 2, and you can’t really discuss Cash Truck without paying homage to the original in the genre. That being said, I believe Cash Truck is the better of the two.
