Even bigger combinations can give you a little explosive that clears a whole section, or a Rubik’s cube that takes all blocks of one color out of the playing field.

Combining two rockets gives you both a row and a column, combining a rocket and an explosive gives you three rockets in every direction, and combining either a rocket or an explosive with a Rubik’s cube gives you rockets or explosives scattered across the playing field.

Below, I’ll list four strategies to win and earn cash playing Explodocube. While there are a lot of different scenarios you can come across, these strategies will help you get a head start on your opponent.
- Combine towards extras
I never really clear three or four blocks. When I see four blocks, I’ll gladly make two moves to get a rocket. As a sidenote, a rocket by itself isn’t a great extra – I’ll gladly make two extra moves to combine it with another extra. That’s where the fun really starts.
- Create room
In some levels, you have only a little room to work. In that case, don’t go over the playing field looking for combinations, but focus on one area, so you’ll have room to work and enough space to create the extras.
- Keep an eye on your time
There are two constraints in your game: moves and time. Both give you a bonus when you’ve accomplished the targets set out, but your moves reset after each level – your time doesn’t. While you’re playing the first level, make sure you don’t use more than half of your time. The second level is trickier and will require more time.
- Use the die
The die that’s inconspicuously hanging out below the playing field can be a great help. Tapping this die will reshuffle all the blocks in view. You might just end up with some instant extras.
